Pet insurance reviews
We read every policy wording in full for each insurer below before scoring it. Each review covers waiting periods, deductible and reimbursement options, what's excluded, and who the plan is genuinely not a good fit for — not just the marketing page. Scores are WhichPetPlan's own editorial rating; see our methodology.
We read 8 insurers' policy wordings and score them editorially. Scores are not paid rankings. Premiums shown anywhere on this site are illustrative starting estimates, not quotes.
How we review pet insurers
Every insurer on this page is scored against the same checklist: accident and illness waiting periods (plus any longer orthopedic or cruciate hold), deductible and reimbursement combinations you can actually choose, whether the annual payout is hard-capped or unlimited, how pre-existing conditions are defined, and whether a wellness or routine-care add-on exists. We use the insurer's own sample policy or a named comparison outlet for those facts — we do not invent waiting periods, limits, or ratings.
The score comes first; any referral relationship comes later and never moves the ranking. The one-line differentiator under each insurer below is pulled from our editorial “best for” and “the catch” fields on that review. Open the full review for waiting periods, exclusions, and who should skip that plan.
