Quotes for a healthy one-year-old animal typically start around $62/mo for dogs or $35/mo for cats, but your actual price depends on breed, age, ZIP code and the deductible/reimbursement combination you pick — treat that number as a starting point, not a quote.

What it covers, and what it caps

Wellness / routine care: No routine-care wellness plan. Optional add-ons instead cover recovery/complementary care, a breeding rider, and pet-owner assistance — none of them routine checkup coverage.
Direct vet pay: The only insurer here offering true Vet Direct Pay — it pays the clinic directly at checkout (where the hospital supports it) so you only cover your deductible and 10% at the counter instead of fronting the whole bill and waiting for reimbursement. About 75% of claims are handled within 24 hours.
