What does the catalog actually publish for dogs?
The same one-year-old starting table used on our cat and premium answers lists dogs at $28 to $62 per month: Lemonade $28, Pets Best $33, Spot $38, Figo $40, Embrace $41, Healthy Paws $44, Fetch $47, Trupanion $62. That is the closest published number we have to a young dog. We do not invent a separate puppy-only price table.
The leftover cat-cost answer already states the same comparison: cats start at $14 to $35 on that table. Dogs cost more on the same catalog.
What changes the quote from the catalog number?
Age is the largest lever after breed. Senior dogs cost more, and pre-existing exclusions cover more of the likely claims. Deductible and reimbursement rate (70, 80, or 90 percent) move the monthly premium in the other direction.
