Lemonade vs Figo: which should you pick?

By the WhichPetPlan editorial team · Last verified 2026-08-24
Short answer

Lemonade wins on price and score: illustrative $28/mo for a dog versus $40/mo ($16 vs $23 for cats), scoring 9.0 vs 7.9 for dogs. Figo answers with the only 100% reimbursement tier we track (paired with a $500 or $750 deductible, not combinable with its unlimited plan) and a 24-hour accident start against Lemonade’s 2 days. Both are app-first insurers; neither is sold everywhere, so quote your ZIP.

Lemonade is the one insurer on this site we can send you to for a live quote. That does not make it the right plan for every pet. As of August 2026, Lemonade Pet is not available in Alaska, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, or Wyoming.

Some links here are partner links. If you buy through one, the insurer may pay us a fee. It never changes your premium and it never changes a ranking.

The 100 percent tradeoff

Figo’s 100% tier is unique in our catalog but constrained: it requires a $500 or $750 deductible and cannot combine with the unlimited Higher Coverage plan, whose Popular sibling caps at $10,000.

Lemonade instead reaches a $100,000 configured cap at 70/80/90% reimbursement with deductibles from $100, which suits owners who want ceiling rather than maximum percentage back.

Speed and availability

Figo starts accident cover after 24 hours, the fastest tier we track besides Fetch; Official Lemonade accidents start at 0 days nationwide. As of August 2026 Lemonade is not sold in AK, ID, KS, KY, SD, VT, WV or WY; confirm Figo in your state as well.
