Is 100% reimbursement pet insurance worth it?
Sometimes, and only as a Figo configuration, not as a sitewide product. Figo is the only insurer in this lineup offering 100% reimbursement, and only with a $500 or $750 deductible, not paired with the unlimited-annual-limit plan (the Popular plan caps at $10,000). After that deductible you pay $0 of a covered claim instead of 10 to 30 percent. You still pay the deductible, and you still pay a higher premium (Figo's catalog catch is "priced accordingly"). Trupanion is fixed at 90% with a per-condition deductible and unlimited limits. Lemonade tops out at 90% and is the only live Get-quote hop, at illustrative starting estimates of about $28 per month for dogs and $16 per month for cats, not quotes. This unused answer is not the 100% blog and not unlimited-vs-capped. WhichPetPlan does not earn a commission from Figo. Figo has no Get-quote hop on this site.
Is 100% reimbursement pet insurance worth it?
One hundred percent reimbursement means that after the deductible, the insurer pays the rest of a covered claim. It is not "free vet care." Figo will not sell that 100% tier with its unlimited Higher Coverage plan. The buyer who wants 100% accepts a mid-size deductible, a $10,000 Popular-plan ceiling, and a higher monthly bill.
Work one covered $5,000 claim against a $750 deductible. At 100% you pay $750. At 90% you pay $750 plus 10% of $4,250, or $1,175. The gap is $425 on that bill. If the 100% premium costs more every month, a healthy year can erase that gap before you ever claim. We do not publish Figo's 100% versus 90% price delta, so this page does not invent one.
What competes with 100% without a Figo hop
Trupanion fixes reimbursement at 90% and charges its deductible once per diagnosed condition for the life of the pet, with unlimited limits. For a chronic drug bill, that design can beat a capped 100% plan. The catch is price: about $62 per month illustrative for dogs, the highest month-to-month figure we list.
Cheap 90% entry is Lemonade at about $28 / $16, Healthy Paws at about $44 / $24 with an unlimited option, Pets Best at about $33 / $14. Those are catalog starting estimates, not quotes. Official Lemonade waits are 0 days for accidents nationwide, 14 days for illness, and 30 days for orthopedic conditions. Lemonade is not sold in AK, ID, KS, KY, SD, VT, WV, or WY as of August 2026.
Who should actually buy 100%
Buy Figo's 100% tier if your budget breaks above a few hundred dollars of surprise, you accept the $10,000 Popular cap, and a real Figo quote still wins against a 90% unlimited rival. Everyone else gets more protection per dollar from 90% plus the strongest annual limit they can float.
A 100% plan does not cover pre-existing conditions. Rankings stay editorial. The Lemonade button on this page is a paid alternative, not a Figo enrollment link, and not a ranking of Lemonade over Figo.
