Orthopedic fine print
Spot applies a single 14-day clock to accidents, illnesses and joints alike. Lemonade runs 30 days for orthopedic conditions generally but holds cruciate ligament events specifically for 6 months, the longest wait in its policy.
For joint-risk breeds that difference can decide the claim: a cruciate injury surfacing in month three is covered under Spot’s terms and excluded under Lemonade’s.
Price and ceilings
Illustrative dog entries run about $28/mo at Lemonade versus $38/mo at Spot, with scores of 9.0 vs 8.3 for dogs and 9.2 vs 8.2 for cats. Both reach unlimited limits at the top of their menus; Lemonade otherwise caps at $100,000.
