Pre-existing handling compared

Both re-cover curable conditions after 12 consecutive symptom-free months, and both permanently exclude chronic ones. For a pet with an old ear infection or single bout of vomiting on file, that distinction can decide which insurer will ever pay for related care again.

Wellness and orthopedics

Embrace’s Wellness Rewards gives a $250 or $450 annual allowance including grooming and nutrition consults; Lemonade sells a wellness add-on plus separate pieces for dental illness, behavioral conditions, physical therapy and vet visit fees. Compare each add-on quote and included benefits.

On joints: Lemonade currently advertises 30 days for orthopedic conditions (check your state policy), while Embrace cuts its orthopedic wait to 14 days if a vet exam is submitted in your first two weeks, an option Lemonade does not document.
